This couple has such a fantastic chemistry between them that I was getting sparks while shooting them......We had about an hour to shoot them because it was going to start raining so we headed as fast as we could to the pine nut trees in Mesilla, NM and just had fun.....

Back in March I was invited by a local magazine called Downtown Niche to be a part of their fashion issue where they were going to be advertising local fashion stores and they asked me to be one of the photographer for that shoot. I was so happy to get to do a fashion shoot since I had been wanting to do one for so long...........and I got my very first publication!!!

Hello?? Hi?? Hola??...........is someone still there?? I hope so :)

I'm so sorry that I haven't updated this little blog of mine in the last 3 months.............things have been really busy in my personal life that I really had no time to update..........but I'm back now so you better buckle up for ALL the updates I have for you all :)

So my sister started getting contractions on Saturday Dec. 26 but the doctor said it was normal and that she could have the baby that day or in the next 2 weeks.........So we waited..........Then came Monday and her contractions started getting stronger........my parents went to be with her and Milton and my brother and I went to the movies to kill time hahaha.........After the movie we get a call from Dad saying that they won't deliver the baby until like 6am and that we should get some rest.......so we did.....and around 3:30 am Dad calls again to tell us that they have to induce her because the baby was stressing.......so off we went to the hospital.....and when we got there the baby was already in the nursery............I must say that I felt in love INSTANTLY with that cute face...........I just love him so much............ I of course had to bring my camera with me :) so here are a few pics from the day he was born......

3 weeks later we had his first photo shoot and I say FIRST 'cause he's going to have a lot of them hahaha.......
To my surprise he loved the camera he would hear the shutter click and just stare directly at me.......I love it :)

Hello everyone!! Are you all still there waiting patiently for me to update my blog?? hahahaha well wait no further I have a few updates I need to post..........
I'm so sorry for neglecting this little blog of mine for the last couple of months...........Some of you have given me hard time for not updating (ALE, ROXY, DAD) but I'm back..........
Things are C-R-A-Z-Y here with wedding plans, my day time job and just basic life...............

Can you believe I'm only 35 days away 'till I marry my bestest friend!!!! I can't tell you how excited I am hahaha..........I must say thou that this process has been a hard one too since I've been learning SO MUCH about myself and all the areas I need to grow in.....

Oh and by the way ........... I'm the proud AUNTIE of an ADORABLE little boy called Santiago..............my sister gave birth on Dec. 29th................more pics coming next :)

I had the honor and privilege to capture the love that David & Valeria have for each other on the most important day of their lives.
The day started a little cloudy and then it eventually rained a little, oh but that didn't anxiety or anything on Valeria.....she didn't care about the weather, she only wanted to look perfect for the love of her life-David :)

Guess who's getting married???

MMMMMMMMMMEEEEEEEEEE!!!!!!!!!!!

Hahaha........well it all happened on Sunday July 26th.........

He had been telling me for like a week that he thought it would be a good idea if we took pictures together since he "didn't have one of me (OF COURSE HE DOES!!! hahaha) So I was like, ok that's a good idea I even told him I wished Sarah or Kristen lived closer so that they could take them for us :)

On Saturday he told me again about the pictures and he mentioned that it would be a good idea to ask a guy from church who has helped me with a couple of weddings if he could take them for us......and I was like OK...........but then he mentioned that what if we took them on Sunday after church........He was insisting and I obliged but really didn't think much about it.............

But on Sunday I saw him talking to this guy and I was like HE IS SUCH A STUBBORN GUY!!!! hahahaha so I told him he was stubborn and he said he was with the things he cares about........OK hahaha

So we were taking the pictures at like 3 PM.........It was so hot outside and I was so tired hahahaha but I was up for it just to bless him.........then after a little while he stood up and went to the car to "get something" so I took advantage of the extra little attention and got some profile pictures.........he came back and since I was sitting on the grass he kneeled and place a beautiful bouquet of flowers between us and I was like Oh THANK YOU hahaha and all of a sudden he pulls this box and places it on the flowers that's when I realized something was going on ......and then he opens it and I see this beautiful ring and I gasped hahahahaha and he told me that I was the love of his life and that he wanted me to be his wife..........I of course said YES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And the best part is I have pictures to prove it :)

Ok....so Alex & Anayancy FINALLY got married last month :) I was honored to be their photographer and a bridesmaid :)

The wedding ceremony and the reception where at this beautiful and delicious restaurant called "Ardovinos" in New Mexico (I think we were in NM hahaha) Anyways, the day started a little glummy but ended being a wonderful evening. Ale & Juan had all there friends and family there with them to celebrate this very special event in their young lives........

This e-session was so much fun......First of all because Julia is my beautiful cousin and Ricardo is the newest addition to the family......right mosquito??

We headed to Old Town Mesilla, which is located about 45 minutes from El Paso, Tx...... I must say Armando and I had a GREAT TIME shooting them......we laughed a lot, got soaked in mud, almost got bee stings and Julia and I had to get $1 dlls sandals on our way back because our shoes were not reusable after we "trespassed" some Pecan Grow Farms....Oh but it was SO WORTH IT!!!

Photoshop Actions

Hello everyone!! I know I've sort of neglected this little blog of mine for the past week and some of my friends who are my faithful readers also asked me to update the blog but even thou this post might not be of much interest to them, at least I'm blogging hahaha :P

This past week I finally got Photoshop CS3 YAY!!!! so I inmediately started looking for actions and since EVERYONE brags about Totally Rad Actions I thought I would give them a try so I downloaded their sample kit. I also found some free (yes FREE) actions online that are great!!......AND..........I got some cool actions from the Fabulous Jamie Delaine .

I've been playing around with some actions on 2 pictures from Claudia and Hugo's engagement session (2 post down) and I've LOVED the end results..............I know I have a lot to learn about PS but I'm excited to see what I can create.... :D

Here are the examples I did......PLEASE let me know what you think......I would LOVE to hear if you like them or not.....any criticism is welcome, just be nice and polite please......

24... To some it might mean just a number or a great TV show......but today it means something else, at least to me...
You see today is my 24th Birthday and even thou I feel weird writing this I wanted to do so, so that I could come back and read this whenever I wanted to.

Last night I was feeling really weird, sorta depressed...why?? I had no idea........Then I realized what was going on..........I was putting my eyes on ME, on MY feelings, on MY circumstances, on MY business, on MY health, on MY relationship with Armando and not on who has my life in His Hands, the ONE who knows me better than what I know myself, my God, my Savior.

As I was realizing these and other things, I began to feel God's peace in my heart and I felt refreshed.

I'm really excited to see how God works this year in my life, my business, my family, my friends and my relationship with Armando.....I just have to let Him do it

Hello everyone!!
Sorry I haven't updated this blog.....I have a couple of posts piled up that I'll hopefully be posting in the next few days.....
So to get started I wanted to show you some pictures from our New Year's Eve Party. A group of friends and I got together to bring in the New Year, it was a lot of fun. We played cards A LOT hahaha, we remembered God's grace in our lives, drank cider, ate TONS of food and just had a GREAT TIME.........ENJOY!!

Hello to everyone who still read this blog........I was going thru some of my files from last year and I came up with this slideshow that Sarah B did while I was in Chicago.
These pictures where taken after Marlene & Jeremy's wedding. Here's the story behind it: It was like 2 am, Marlene had given us a big individual cake.....so we get a call from the videographer and his crew to see if we wanted to come down and eat cake....and of course we did.......So you can imagine how everything went...............ENJOY!!!!

2008 RECAP!!

I can't believe the year 2008 is a few hours from being over!! God has been so good and merciful to me this year that I wanted to write it all down so that in the future I can come back to this post and just see God's hand in my life. So here is a recap of what happened in this incredible year of 2008 month by month, stick with me, it's good :D :D

JANUARY:
I had my very first Family Session with the Baylon family and I loved it!! Ericka their second daughter was getting married in February and moving away to Monterrey so she asked me to take some family pictures for her so that she could take some with her.

FEBRUARY:
Carlos & Ericka's Wedding......I was sort of a second shooter for her. I loved the opportunity she gave me, I learned so much and I got a new friend. She and I keep in contact and try to see each other everytime she comes.....She's very special to me since she was basicly my first bride :D

MARCH:
We had the opportunity to present for the 4th year our Easter play at church called: "Su Pasion por Ti" (His Passion for You), This has been one of the greatest events Ive been a part of. It gives us the opportunity to testify to others about what Christ did for us on the Cross,

APRIL:
My parents celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary. We had a surprise party for them with their closest friends. We had a great time honoring them and just giving thanks to God. Kristen Snyder was able to come down and capture this special day for us.....She did a great job, Thank you Kris for doing this for us!!!

MAY:
This month was a big deal for my family: My sister Monica got engaged to Milton......

JUNE:
June was a big month for me. First of all, by God's grace I started a courtship with Armando :D I have been able to see God's hand in this relationship.

About a week after we started courting....I headed to Chicago for an incredible internship with the amazing Sarah Barlow. I had an AMAZING time. I learned so much from her and I made new friends a long the way :D Sarah, Nat, Laura D and the rest of the Barlow clan...Thank you so much for opening your hearts to me while I was their. I hope to see you soon!! :D

JULY:
A couple of weeks after I got back from Chicago, I shoot Adriana & Roy's wedding reception.

AUGUST:
Another big month for the fam: Monica & Milton's Wedding!!

A week after the wedding, I took some pictures of Alex & Anayancy, who are now engaged and are getting married in June 2009!!! Guys, thank you for your friendship :D

Well it's almost Christmas, so I think I should give a Big Shout Out to my Blog STALKER Marhel.....hahaha I love that she's my stalker because she and I have been friends probably since we were like 2 years old......So Marhel, this post is for you, Monica and Melissa.

I had the privilege of taking Thelma & Timo's engagement pictures at the end of Octuber. The day could not have been better......Not too hot not too cold and we had a small breeze that fit perfectly with the love these two have for each other.
This was a special session for me too since Armando (my boyfriend) came along and shoot with me.....He actually took really good ones and he helped me out at their wedding also....I love that we have the opportunity to do this together :D

Ok so forget about me posting every day......not happening hahaha....life is so busy right now........I'll try to post at least 1 or 2 times a week......... Hopefully that would work better..........

So...........let's talk about Ana Laura and Saul's Wedding...............Ana Laura asked me to just take pictures of her getting ready and of the ceremony since they already had a photographer when we meet for the very first time. And I of course said YES!!!
This couple loves each other SO MUCH......I was honored to be there at the ceremony and just see them commiting their lives to God as a couple......

Ok ok, I know this is so behind but hey it's better late than never, right?? hahaha
On Oct 4th I had the privilege of shooting Anayuli and Memo's wedding....you might remember them from 2 posts down......The day went really smooth and I had a great time shooting them.....By God's Grace I was able to shoot this wedding, because exactly on their wedding day I ended getting a terrible cold.....but somehow I got thru it.....I want to thank my brother Andres for coming along with me to take care of me and carry my bags :)

If anyone was wondering if I was alive...YES I AM!!!! This is the longest I have gone with out blogging....Life has been pretty busy this month but I have lots and lots of things to post about.....I'll try to put a post up each day.....I said try ok....hahaha

First up is the Chupacabras 100km Race...This is a bike race that my dad and a few others from church do each year...It's actually a pretty big race here in Juarez; a lot of people come from all over to participate.......

ENGAGEMENT: Adam & Pami

A few weeks ago I was graciously asked by Pami if I could take some pictures of her and Adam and I said OF COURSE!!!!
You see Pami and I have been friends for like 15 years hahahaha.....we grew up together and she's a PK too hahaha...........
I had the opportunity to tag along with Kristen to get some pictures of when Adam and Pami got engaged back in April and now I'll be second shooting their wedding with her in like a month...Can't wait!!!

Pami: Thank you so much for being my friend. Thank you for speaking God's truth to my life. I love to see how you honor Adam and how you are willing to follow him even if it costs being far away from your family and friends here in Mexico. I know God will bless you tremendously in Maryland. ***Ok so a little side story........and I know Sarah B. is going to shake her head and then LAUGH......While I was shooting Adam and Pami and realized I only had ONE battery with me and after like 25 min into the shoot it DIES!!!!!!!, I thought my extra battery was in my camera bag so I went to look for it and it was NOT there.....We were at this great neighborhood and I was so disappointed that we weren't going to be able to shoot there some more, but Pami and Adam where really great sports and we rescheduled the rest of the shoot for the next morning so I woke up at like 8:30 AM to do the shoot before church. I went over to Pami's house where we were going to meet and everything was going so well. So like in the middle of the shoot Pami and Adam notice I had some mosquitoes on my legs (yes I was wearing shorts :P) Well I ended with like 12 mosquito bites on EACH leg and several on my hands hahahaha.........Oh but it was all worth it...............My lesson of the day: when shooting in the morning after it has rained the WHOLE night wear PANTS and repellent hahahaha***

One Wednesday afternoon while I was waiting for my friend Sandra and her daughter Sofia to arrive for a "tryout" session to see if we could capture a certain image that my church needed for a conference I took advantage of the Barraza Family since they where there with me and they had asked me a few weeks before if I could talk pictures of their Family of 3................

Alex and Cinthya have been married for like 2 years (or more?? hahaha) and they were blessed with Baby Alex a year ago.....

JUST BECAUSE: Alex & Anayancy

Alex and Anayancy met about a year ago at church...They started a courtship 6 months ago and are now waiting to see what God's plan for their lives and their relationship is. You see, Alex is attending the Sovereign Grace Ministries Pastors College in Gaithersburg, MD while Anayancy is here in Juarez, Mexico. I love the way Anayancy has supported Alex in this phase in his life, I bet it's hard to know that your boyfriend will be out of town for the next 10 months ( I know it would be hard on me if it was Armando the one leaving) I love how Alex has cared for Anayancy's heart during this time and I LOVE how their faces light up everytime they get the chance to talk to each other.
Before Alex left for Maryland, he asked me if I could take some pictures of them together since neither of them had pictures of each other and I WAS DELIGHTED to do so.
Since he wanted to surprise Anayancy he gave her a blank photo frame and she was like: "Oh a frame...umm Thanks" hahaha but then he told her what it was for and she started laughing 'cause she was really happy :D

Alex, we miss you but we know that God has big plans for you. Anayancy, Thank you for your friendship!!
Alex & Anayancy: The way you guys honor God in your relationship is a great example to me. I love you two very much, I hope you like the pictures!!!

"You make me tremble with what you said about my courtship being an example to you. I have to confess that only by the Grace of God we haven't derailed by one simple reason: the help of the church. If I could encourage someone to imitate from us is to recognized that it's not an easy process, to recognized that out of the Grace of God we couldn't honor him in this and to ask the church for help. WEDDING: Monica & Milton

Monica & Milton's wedding was a special one, since she's my baby sister :D . We had had rain a few days before the wedding but fortunately it didn't rain the day of the wedding. Everything was PERFECT!!!! My uncle Ruben and I were the official photographers for the day, so you might imagine what my day was like being the sister of the bride, the maid of honor and the photographer hahaha...good times.
This post will be my longest since it's special to me and because a few of our out of town friends who couldn't be at the wedding are expecting this (we missed you Jo and Caro!!)

Hello Blog world...............I'm working on getting a few posts up in the next couple of days...... but in case you were wondering where have I been here's a little recap of the last few weeks of my crazy life........ (***These are not edited..yet)

1.-We went on a last minute family vacation for 2 days to Ruidoso , NM just to relax as a family of 6 before my sister's wedding

Today is a very special day.....Today it's Paola's 1st B-day. This little girl is very special to me for 2 reasons:

1.- Her mom is my very good friend Roxana. Roxy and I grew up together and even thou she's a little older (I SAID A LITTLE OK hahaha) than me, God has given us the opportunity to build a great friendship.

2.- Bunky (as we affectionately call her) was the first person I photographed last year with my back then new Nikon D40 when she was 2 months old, then I did my first Family Session with her and her parents when she was 3 months old and then I took some "surprise christmas pics" in December when she was 5 months old. And now she's a year old.

So to celebrate her Birthday I took her outside and did a mini shoot and I'm very happy to see the end results.

BUNKY: If you ever read this I just want you to know that your Auntie Ana LOVES YOU like crazy and I can't wait to see you grow up.

This is a very special post for me, since the pictures are of my little sister and my future brother in-law :P
Kristen Snyder was in town serving at Rancho 3M orphanage last week and she offered to take some engagement pictures of Monica and Milton at the Ranch so my dad and I tagged along. This shoot gave me the opportunity to serve them and to practice since me and my uncle will be the photographers at their wedding in 3 weeks!!!

Monica: I LOVE YOU...even thou I might not show it sometimes. I'm very happy to see that you have grown to be a Godly woman and I'm very excited to see how God keeps on blessing you thru this new stage in your life.

WEDDING: Marlene and Jeremy

Marlene and Jeremy got married on June 27, 2008 while I was in Chicago doing my internship with Sarah. I seriously LOVE this couple. They treated us as we were long time friends.......Marlene wanted us (by us I mean Sarah, Laura, Natalie and I) to come and have a good time at her wedding...it was even on her contract!!!! They rented us a room at the hotel where the whole bridal party, friends and family where staying. They got married at the fabulous Patrick Haley Mansion in Joliet, IL. The day started a little glummy and it rained while we were doing pictures on this field of wild flowers but about an hour before the ceremony started the sun came out and it was just perfect. Marlene was so good at thinking of all these little details for her wedding...she even had butterflies under her veil and the guests had butterflies in little envelopes so that they could release them when Marlene and Jeremy were pronounced husband and wife. The toasts at the reception where just perfect....tears where in my eyes...
